even in the city
where the hum never quite goes away.
The noise is somehow different —
muted, perhaps —
from the daytime's
The lights brighten the places
where they shine,
but their blues and oranges
are not the natural colours
of the moon and sun —
and they add to
Yet those also
helping us find
And, overall, they cast
a gentler mantle
on the
earth.
The inspired Bear is my favorite Bear ... lovely writing!

I don't know why I'm just clicking to get here. :) I'll slow down, stop by, and absorb sometimes.
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you have the poetic gift of expression.
Well, I'm not quite sure about that gift. But like anything else, either I grow it, or it will die. So I am choosing to write poetry; it's something new for me in retirement. Yes; you can teach an old Bear new ticks.
DeleteFrankly, I didn't know I had it in me — and like you, people have been very encouraging!
You mean there's hope for ME? lol
DeleteAbsolutely, if you follow your heart.
DeleteNice going, each season portrayed in all its details.
ReplyDelete® rosaria williams: Thanks for visiting. I'm going to keep working on this.
ReplyDeleteWow - your poetry is beautiful, Rob-bear!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the kind comment, Betty. I have a "part two" to this poem, which I'll post when I'm through the A-Z Challenge.

Life in the Urban Forest (poetry)
That must be the most beautiful bear poem I've ever read. I haven't read many bear poems, but still ... quite lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Kristen. There is a part two to this, and perhaps a part three. If I can get everything settled from my A-Z Challenge 2013, that poem is the next thing on the list. Sadly, I feel like I keep meeting myself coming around corners. GRRRrrrr.
DeleteYes, I'm feeling very unsettled.

Life in the Urban Forest (poetry)
A fine bear poem, indeed. And if anyone has studied lighting upon the earth I would believe it to be a Bear, so this poem speaks the lovely truth.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lydia. In our apartment, as opposed to our house (previously), we're in the midst of a well-lit park. Here I can study night and dark, and imagine the subtle interplay.
DeleteBlessings and Bear hugs!
You are paying attention to all that's important, Bear!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rosaria. You're very kind.
