BEGINNING

Morning fog
floating over the city
like a fine gray blanket,
dulling the buildings,
obstructing the sun
with a cool sweatiness.
A stodgy, sticky start
to another
day, another
week.

  1. Stodgy, sticky start may be uncomfortable ~~ but it reads good. I like this, Bear.

  2. Thanks, Helen. I sometimes get a little "stuffy" about my writing. I find that when I'm able to let go, to have a little fun with the words, they seem to come out better.

  3. Stodgy, sticky start....Helen and I both loved that statement. Now I must figure out WHICH of your blogs to put on my blog...

    1. Thanks for dropping by, lotta. I appreciate your presence.

The two blogs "seeing the most action" are "Chrome" and this one; Chrome remains my main contact point. I'm not quite ready to let go of the others; that may yet happen.

Thanks again for the beautiful card.

  4. There's something about fog that intrigues me! Nature is fascinating and Betty likes to observe it in all its facets! I like the way your poems reflect your life. From your profile it sounds like you really enjoy life!

  5. I like fog! I think there is something mystifying about it! Just don't like to be walking in it at night- scary!

    Great poem!

    1. Thanks for your thoughts, Betty. There is something spooky, but inviting, I find, when I'm in fog. But not when I'm driving!
